Uncover the peace of Juayua, one of El Salvador's main coffee-producing towns and famous for its weekly food festival plus its colonial church, the Iglesia del Cristo Negro (Church of the Black Christ). Some waterfalls just 2 km away, will cool you down on a hot day. Scotia Banco a block away from the main square has a ATM for Visa Plus and Master. Also you can change travellers cheques inside the bank. There is internet in town look around the main square. Sights Juayua has a weekly food and music festival. It will start every friday and ends on sunday. There is also a little market where you can buy gadgets. The Chorros de Calera Located close to the picturesque town of Juayua, is this natural waterfall where two areas have been dammed to make swimming pools. Despite its beauty Chorros de Calera isn´t a widely known tourist site but it is definately worth visiting. It is only a 2 km hike from the town centre and is well signposted. Take your swimming gear, a few liters of water and some snacks. Church The Church has a statue of the black Jesus. But for you maybe the singing priest every morning at 6 am out of 8 speakers on top of the church is what you will remember most.
